GURAR investment casting technology involves a technical, multi-step process that uses ceramic molds in the manufacture of metal components with more complex shapes, closer tolerances and finer surface finishes than parts manufactured using other casting methods. The investment casting process involves the creation of a wax pattern of the part to be cast, along with pathways through which molten metal flows into the ceramic mold; formation of a ceramic shell around the wax pattern followed by removal of the wax from the ceramic shell by melting and draining the wax; pouring of molten metal into the ceramic shell; shell removal; and final processing and inspection.
